The vibrant city of Larissa welcomed the partners of the Erasmus+ project InkScape Innovators – Merging Green Skills and Creativity in Vocational Education for the first transnational activity of this groundbreaking initiative. Coordinated by EEPEK, the project brings together partners from Greece, Portugal, and Turkey to transform vocational education through environmental awareness, digital storytelling, and the power of comics.

The opening day of the meeting, held on April 12, 2025, was dedicated to managerial work. Coordinators and project representatives gathered to set the foundations for effective collaboration. Discussions focused on shared responsibilities, timelines, communication tools, and a detailed breakdown of project outcomes. EEPEK, as lead partner, presented the core vision, administrative procedures, and upcoming tasks, ensuring that all partners aligned with the goals of merging green skills and artistic expression in the VET sector.

A Creative Workshop with Thanos Kyratzis

The following two days (April 13–14) transformed the atmosphere from strategy to storytelling. Representatives from the partner organizations participated in an immersive comics workshop designed and delivered by Thanos Kyratzis, an acclaimed comic artist, educator, and trainer.

With his unique blend of artistic expertise and educational insight, Kyratzis introduced participants to the world of visual storytelling, guiding them through the creative process of crafting environmentally themed comics. Through practical exercises, collaborative sketching, and peer feedback, the workshop laid the groundwork for the upcoming student-focused training activities that will take place later in the project.

InkScape Innovators is set to empower VET students by connecting sustainability, digital creativity, and cross-border collaboration. As the project unfolds, expect to see a rich digital anthology of environmental comics, the development of a Green Skills Toolkit for educators, and a wide-reaching awareness campaign through visual narratives.

With the first activity in Larissa successfully completed, the consortium looks forward to the next stages of this bold initiative—where green meets ink, and learning becomes a creative journey.
