October brought a burst of creativity and action for the Democracy Panels team. Two hands-on Comics Production workshops introduced participants to the full journey of making a comic—from scriptwriting to final layout. The first session focused on crafting original concepts and impactful scripts, while the second explored technical production skills such as coloring, lettering, and preparing files for print. These sessions were not only educational but also deeply empowering, giving young volunteers the tools to bring their ideas to life with professional quality. Team meetings throughout the month ensured that all aspects of the Comics Guide and upcoming exhibition were progressing smoothly.

Beyond comics, the project’s spirit of solidarity took shape in the real world. In collaboration with the Municipality of Tyrnavos and local institutions, the team organized and carried out a park-cleaning event near a local school. Volunteers cleaned the area, painted fences, and cared for the plants—transforming the neglected space into a future spot for storytelling and graffiti art. The action reflected the project’s mission: connecting creativity with civic responsibility and proving that active citizenship can begin with a broom and a paintbrush.

October also marked the project’s presence on an international stage. ComMedi members presented a workshop at the EEPEK International Conference, showcasing how the Democracy Panels Comics Guide can be used as a tool to cultivate democratic education in schools. The session sparked interest among educators and policymakers, highlighting the project as a model of youth engagement and creative civic learning.
